This charcoal is ideal for burning loose incense. Most charcoal available on the market contains chemicals that give it the self-igniting properties, but the fumes are highly toxic if inhaled. In contrast, this charcoal is 100% natural and releases a pleasant woody, herby smell. It also does not burn as hot as the type with igniting agents, which slowly releases the fragrance of the incense without scorching it.

You can light a piece of the charcoal by holding it over a flame with a pair of tongs for 2 to 4 minutes.
